MIGRATION K40 K45

We all hate pwipes.  Never again!

We are offering a migration path for people who have characters on Kallisit
version 4.0 ("K40") or 4.5 ("K45") (there were two pwipes between 4.0 and 5.0).

During character creation you will see an option "C" that allows you to
convert a character from either of those versions to the current mud ("K5").

This is a gesture of good will to our long time players.  Please note that this
is not trivial and the complexities of name changes, lineages, etc. are
not insignificant so please be patient and as understanding as possible.

You can view the WHOIS for a K40 or K45 character with the whois40 or whois45
commands.

The guidelines are:
- If a character exists on K5, you will not be able to convert the character.
  Depending on the character, Ivy or Sammy might be able to help.
- We will allow you to renam a K5 character if you want to migrate a legacy
  character with the same name.
- We will allow you to rename your account if that name conflicts.
- You must know the password of your legacy character.
- Only the character gets transferred, no gear, no qpoints, no gold.
- You will automatically receive qpoints and bonus max meta sessions on the
  migrated character based on the new level of your character (it will likely
  be a HIGHER level than on K40 or K45 due to the expanded level system on K5)
- If your character was less than level 50 ("p30" or whatever), he will
  keep that level.
- If you have a character with the same name on K40 and K45, you must pick
  which one you want to migrate.
- If you have a lineage, you must pick which lineage to transfer, you cannot
  transfer part of a K40 lineage and expect to connect it to a K45 lineage.
- If you make a mistake, we may help, but it gets complicated and we generally
  would rather not get involved except for the account / player name changes
  described above.
- Note, you cannot delete high level characters on K5.  If you need help deleting
  one of your current high level characters, we can help with that as well (to
  make the name available for a character you are migrating).
