MAXRANK
At the Adventurer's Guild in Midgaard you can buy all kinds of whacky stuff. Some of it is actually useful - like purchasing "maxrank" for example. What does this do? Three guesses, starting now. Give up? I'll just tell you. It let's you purchase a rank for ANY skill over the maximum rank that your guildmaster would ordinarily teach you. For those that are affected by the SLOW or FEEBLEMIND spell, let's really spell it out. If your guild teaches FISHING to rank 10, well forget that, with this option, you can TURN IT UP TO ELEVEN! That's rock star territory there. Ok, what's the catch? You get two of these to hook you, then you start having to get PARAGON levels to get more to feed that overcranked skill addiction. And by skill, I mean skill or spell or proficiency, but don't do the latter, that's for people that aren't paying attention. It also costs you mad quest points. Like 25 or something ridiculous and it gets worse because the cost goes up every time you do it. Even if you do it on a completely different skill, it'll still cost you more than it did the first time. But it's totally worth it so hoard a mountain of gold and offer to buy quest points from other people so you can buy maxrank as much as possible.
