Shops are a great place to buy and sell equipment, potions, and scrolls. Keep
in mind though that shops usually specialize in one type of merchandise. Now
you might think it would just be easier to kill a shopkeeper and take what you
want, not so. Shopkeepers are tough and capable individuals who could tear
most groups to small shreds. They also do not like bloodshed in their stores
and will not stand for you trying to start anything. Some shopkeepers also
repair certain types of equipment.
Key for shop list codes:
A * next to an item means that you can't wear it because of size, class, sex,
race, level, or alignment restrictions.
A ! next to an item means the item is too large or small for your size, your
stats aren't high enough, or you don't have enough weapon or armor
ranks to use it.
A ~ next to an item means it's a legacy item - it's not stock. It's been
changed in some way and won't change if the base item does.
A + next to an item means that you haven't id'd it before.
Remember to use IDENTIFY in the store to see the items stats for the exact
reason that the item can't be worn. Some reasons are easy to change
and others are permanent.
