Kingdoms & Clans

Kallisti's organizations come in tiers. A cabal is the cheap, quick way to band together; a clan is the full apparatus — ranks, vaults, badges, and if you dare, open war with other clans. Above the organizations sits personal nobility, earned point by point until you can build a manor, a shop, a throne room. Kingdoms crown the ladder, and are still being built: the intent is for high-level nobles to rule them and take them to war.

Cabals — where it starts

Quicker and cheaper to found than a full clan — and a required stepping stone before one — and you can belong to as many as you like.

Cabals provide a means for people to form their own sub-clans without the
expense of a full-blown clans. Of course you don't have as many options with
a cabal, but forming a cabal is quicker, cheaper, and is a requirement before
forming a full clan.

To see a list of current cabals in the realms, type CABALS. This will show you
which cabals you lead and/or are a member of as well as cabals that you can join.
For a list of all the members and leaders of a cabal use CBWHO <cabal name>.

To create a new cabal use CBCREATE command. Please keep names within the fantasy
midieval theme of your cabal will be deleted. Please don't include color codes.
After inception you can ask an Imm to include those codes.

Cabals get their own cabal channel (CB) and will appear on CLIST along with full
clans once their membership climbs high enough. See the help entry for CB for
more info on cabal chat.

Cabal leaders use the CBINDUCT command to induct new members into their cabal.
You can only LEAD one cabal at a time but you can be a member of as many cabals
as you desire. To promote one of your cabal members to leader status, use the
CBLEADER command.

To leave a cabal use the CBREJECT (aka cabalreject) command. Cabal leaders can
also use this command to reject any of the members in their cabal. Cabal
leaders can only be rejected by themselves (cabal leaders can't reject other
cabal leaders).

You can be in as many cabals as you want, however you can only be the leader of
one. Cabals are different from clans so you can be in any number of cabals AND
one clan. (But you can only be in ONE full fledged clan including ALL of your
characters.) It costs 100000 gold (or more) to create a new cabal and more gold
for each additional leader. Assign new leaders using CBLEADER.

You can use CBWHO to view a list of connected cabal members from ALL of your
cabals.

Cabals earn pkills for killing members of other cabals (following the pkill
rules) however you will only get a pkill for the cabal that you currently have
active (using the cbset command). If you have not set an active cabal with CBSET
when you pkill, then NONE of your cabals will receive a pkill.

Clans — the full apparatus

Ranked by power, run through a ladder of ranks from Recruit up to Sr Leader, and limited to one per player across all your characters.

Clans have many more options than cabals but basically serve a similar
purpose of uniting groups of people with common goals. You can also buy
special clan badges that offer special powers.

CLIST or CLANS shows the existing clans in the game and they are ranked
according to power (kills, members, quests, gold).

CWHO <clan name> shows players connected who are in a specific clan.
CSTATS <clan number> will give you the clan's titles and other information.

Clans are allowed (and encouraged) to set special restrictions on who can join
their ranks. For example, only players of at least level 60 or only OUTLAWS, etc.

Using characters in one clan to unfairly pkill characters in another clan is
strictly against the rules and is grounds for removal of the clan from the
game and/or deletion of all characters involved. For that reason, you are
limited to enrollment in a single hostile clan.

clan list - list all clans (clist)
clan members - list members in a specified clan (cmem)
clan stats - show the stats of any clan (cstats)
clan who - shows who's online in your clan (cwho) - Recruit

Nobility — earning the crown

Titles are personal and earned, from Sir and Lady all the way to Legend — each threshold unlocking new privileges: a manor, a shop, a throne room.

Want to rule the world? Tax your peasants? Order your legion of soldiers
to destroy an opposing kingdom that you currently don't fancy? Or do you
just have an enormous inferiority complex that a privledged title and a few
statues of yourself will remedy?

Become a Kallisti Noble! Easier said than done, actually. You'll need to
earn that title by accumulating "nobility points" which can be earned in a
variety of ways. At certain thresholds, you'll receive an appropriate title

Kingdoms — the road ahead

The top of the ladder, and by the game's own admission a work in progress.

Empires grow and crumble on the kingdom channel.

To get a list of the existing kingdoms use KLIST. Now that you know the names of
the existing kingdoms use KINGDOMS or KINFOS or KSTATS to get details about
a specific kingdom.

Kingdoms are still in the process of being developed but the future intention
is for high level NOBLES to be able to control a kingdom and initiate wars, etc
with other nobles.
